A medium-big bodied ale with a nice malt profile and low bitterness/hopiness. It's simple recipe makes it easy to make and guarantees success.

Mash Efficiency: 55%

Grain Bill:
Liquid Malt Extract: 8lbs 0oz
Aromatic Malt: 0lbs 12oz
Crystal Malt: 1lbs 0oz
Flaked Barley: 0lbs 8oz

Hop Schedule:
Hop: Kent Goldings 1oz   5.8% alpha acid   60 minutes
Hop: Kent Goldings 1oz   5.8% alpha acid   5 minutes


Mash the specialty grains at 155 degrees for 30minutes. I loose mashed them in the kettle and strained them, but you could use a large grain sock.

  • Add 6lbs Amber extract
  • Add 2lbs Dark extract

Bring to boil and complete the hop schedule. Total boil time is 60 minutes.

Combine wort with cold water to equal 5 gallons. Pitch Wyeast 1318 London III at 70 degrees.
