A light flavored brown ale with medium body and milk sweetness. The little brother of a milk stout.

Mash Efficiency: 60%

Grain Bill:
Two Row Malt: 9lbs 0oz
Lactose: 1lbs 0oz
Chocolate Malt: 0lbs 2oz
Crystal Malt: 0lbs 10oz
Special B Malt: 0lbs 12oz

Hop Schedule:
Hop: Target 1oz   8% alpha acid   60 minutes
Hop: Kent Goldings 1oz   5.5% alpha acid   10 minutes


Mash in 5 gallons 168 degree water. Leave the lid open on your mash tun and allow to slowly cool to 150 degrees before closing the lid. Mash for 60 mins.

Batch sparge until wort runs clear. Sparge with 170 water until wort volume reaches 6.25 gallons (5 gallons plus your 1 hour boil off amount). Add the lactose and complete the hopping. Total boil time is 60 mins.

Pitch on Wyeast 1028 London yeast and ferment, bottle and enjoy!
